AMHERST, MASS, October 29, 2007 - The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association® (CAIAA), an independent, not-for-profit international organization that provides a charter program for professionals in alternative investments, will host an informational seminar in New York City on November 5 at Goldman Sachs, 180 Maiden Lane, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

CAIAA's executive director, Craig Asche, will make a short presentation at the event, where he will discuss the CAIA designation program, highlight the Association's growth, both domestically and internationally, and detail the long-term benefits of CAIAA membership. This will be followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

"As evidenced by recent events, understanding new products, structures, techniques and strategies is essential for all investors, and absolutely crucial for those servicing these end-users." Asche said.  "So it comes as no surprise to those familiar with the CAIA program that we've experienced increased participation by both buy and sell side professionals from across the globe. Whether one embraces each and every new alternative investment development is not important, but a comprehensive understanding is key for all practitioners working directly or indirectly with these investment vehicles.  That is what makes ongoing-education an essential commitment for all professionals involved in this space."

The New York informational event is part of 15 total events that have occurred or are scheduled in 2007.  The Association hosted similar events in San Francisco, Chicago, Geneva, Frankfurt, Sydney, Toronto and Montreal earlier this year, and will be visiting Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo to hold similar meetings with industry professionals before the end of the year.

Individuals planning to take the exams, executives seeking to learn more about the CAIA designation on behalf of their companies, financial advisors and planners and other members of the public interested in learning more about AI education will attend the New York event.
