CAIA Association Opens New Chapters in Response to Increased Interest in Alternative Strategies

CAIA Launches San Francisco and Iberia Chapters; Additional Chapters Planned for 2009

AMHERST, MASS, Sep. 24, 2008 - The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association® (CAIA), an independent, not-for-profit international organization that provides a charter program for professionals in alternative investments, today announced that it will open new chapters in San Francisco and the Iberia region serving Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar. 

"These new chapters reflect the strength of the alternative investments industry," said Maia Porter, director of Member Services for CAIA. "Our members constantly give us good feedback on how their chapters help them network, learn and expand their knowledge of the alternatives industry.  We strive to give them the resources they need to grow professionally, and believe that expansion around the world is a key to that."

The new chapters will be launched with events featuring speakers discussing relevant topics to each region.  The event details include:

CAIA Iberia:
 
When:     October 3, 2008, beginning at 6 p.m
 
Where:     Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB), Madrid, Spain

What:    The event is free and open to the public.  A private reception for CAIA members and candidates will be held at a nearby club immediately following the presentation.
 
Topic:   Keynote Presentation & Panel Discussion: "Spain: Trends for a Brave Newcomer to the Hedge Fund World"
