CAIA Association Names Steve Wallace Associate Director of Industry Relations - EMEA
AMHERST, MASS; June 11, 2008 -The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association® today named Steve Wallace its Associate Director of Industry Relations for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Mr. Wallace will help grow and strengthen the Association's worldwide membership and visibility among its constituencies in the alternative investment community.
"Steve will play an important role in the Association's growth by quantifying the merits of the designation to industry professionals," said Craig Asche, executive director of the CAIA Association. "As a designee himself with years of industry experience, Steve can provide unique, first-hand knowledge of how the CAIA educational program can benefit financial institutions and investment professionals at every level, regardless of their specific area of expertise."
As Associate Director of Industry Relations, Mr. Wallace will work to drive awareness of the CAIA Association and its exam to potential members in all financial sectors. He will be responsible for establishing outreach opportunities and presenting the CAIA program at sponsored events across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
"As a financial professional who has already been through the Association's rigorous curriculum, I'm in a unique position to convey the benefits of the program to potential members with an insider's perspective," Steve said. "I'm looking forward to reaching out to my colleagues in the industry and using my experience to help the CAIA program continue its steady global growth."
Before joining the CAIA Association, Mr. Wallace managed client relations for several UK firms - most recently with an emerging market equity hedge fund as well as ING Wholesale Banking. In addition, Steve spent seven years working in the Private Wealth Management sector in Australia, primarily in investment strategy for firms, including the Private Bank division of National Australia Bank and AXA Australia.
Mr. Wallace is a graduate of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a degree in financial planning. He earned his CAIA designation in 2007 and played an important role in building the success of the CAIA London chapter.
