Policymakers at the very highest level in national
governments and the global financial services community are grappling
with some difficult questions: Financial sector stability and
performance have dramatic and direct links with overall economic
wellbeing. That sector continues to roil, generating consequences
across the globe.
This one-day, top-shelf
event in Canada's financial services centre - Toronto, Ontario - will
bring together compelling and provocative world-class speakers to
analyse the current US economic crisis, identify threats and
opportunities in Canada and beyond, and hear directly from the C-Suite
and political decision-makers who are calling the shots. It will be an
opportunity to challenge prevailing assumptions, prod thought leaders
to move beyond their established opinions and foster an atmosphere of
engaging interaction.
Through a combination of
'bird's eye' and long-view presentations, penetrating panel discussion,
and no-nonsense on-stage interviews, attendees will hear directly from
the C-Suite and political decision-makers who are calling the shots.
This View from the Top
event is in response to the success of our previous View from the
Top-New York, held in the Spring. That event brought together such
notable speakers as former-Gov. of New York George Pataki; Dean Maki,
Chief U.S. Economist for Barclay's Capital; Jerry Corrigan, Managing
Director of Goldman Sachs; John Taylor of Stanford University, and Paul
Galant, CEO of Citigroup's Global Transaction Services.
